(N) Cometcats is a FIFe-registered cattery. My name is Hilde Merete Schjelderup, I'm living in Drammen, Norway.
My first cat was bought in 1997 when I should have a hamster for my son. The "hamster" was our pet (N) Dyves Quasivaudau a flamepoint persian colourpoint. I started visiting cat-shows and my interest in persian colourpoint started to grow.
After a while I meet Sylvia Lund, (N) Herkules cattery. She had a sealpoint female for sale. I falled in love with (N) Herkules Jasmine from the first moment I saw her. She came to my home in Mars 1999.
In autumn 1999 Sylvia had a flamepoint female for sale after her Canada-import Everclassic's Corn Flake. (N) Herkules Mary Poppins become a member of my family.
Now I started to think about use these to girls for breed, and was looking for a nice male. I found a lovely boy in Del Plumbago cattery, Italy. Nino and Eugenia Di Molfetta had a bluepoint male called Cracker Jack Del Plumbago. He arrived my home in January 2001. Jack has a fantastic head, eye colour and a super short body and tail.
Now I had two fertile males (I had keep a male after Mary Poppins) and wanted one more female. I had admired the solid cats from (N) Du Monet for a long time. I called Jannikke Orø, and she had a tortie girl for sale. (N) Du Monet Champagne came to me in Mars 2002. She has a super strong body, an enormous coat and temper.
Later that year Jannikke had a wonderful black male kitten (N) Du Monet Very Valentino, and in October he moved in to my cattery. He has the same qualities as Champagne.
Thanks to Sylvia, Jannikke, Eugenia and Nino for these nice cats.
I have kept some kittens after this cats:
These days I'm waiting for my new female. I have reserved a phenomenal bluecream lynx point from Charlotte Strange, Keystone cattery in Denmark. Keystone Ask Me Later will arrive the cattery in August 2005. Thank you Charlotte!
I humbly wish to thank those breeders who have worked for years with the progress of breeding the beautiful colourpoint we have in Norway today. They never gave in, but worked hard towards their purpose and what they believed in. We must always keep in mind; there are lots of patience and hard working job before we end up in those types of cats that we can get today.
